If I Had

If all I had was...
A heartbeat left to live,
would I waste it?
I would watch my son laugh one last time,
I would hold my beloved in one last embrace,
I would reminisce with my family one last time,
But who knows what I would do?
So I live with a smile,
I live with no judgement,
I live with hope.
I hope that time is not cruel,
I hope that time respects me,
I hope that time is my companion.
For my days...
I will try to make them long,
I will try to fill them with moments of joy,
And I will try to fill them with love.
If all I had was...
A heartbeat left to live,
I would live in that moment forever.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Wonderfully told, especially:”I live with hope./I hope that time is my companion.” Also, experience to experience and soul to soul may share the same feelings and ”common recollections”.
