The Dagger of Love

When a boy’s life lacks tragedy
He must make himself a man,
So he takes on the weight of love
To see if he can still stand.
I will imagine her telling me
To blame it on the night.
I will imagine her telling me
The mood is just right.
You can never fall this deep
Only for the fun
Love
A dangerous place to be
Without a gun.
Love is kind of like ice
Melting patiently;
Mentally bound by emotion,
Not knowing that we’re free.
In the play among us
I was in the balcony,
I Looked at blurred expressions
A vague reality.
She noticed the wrinkle in my palm
She no longer held my hand
I called it the dagger of love
The ultimate revenge on man.

This poem is the male perspective, I just posted a poem on 'break up' from the female perspective, what irony. Enjoyed reading the male perspective :).
