The color of an apple
picked from a tree

The color of my cheeks
when someone embarrasses me

The color of anger
felt towards a foe

The color of blood 
from a nasty blow

The color of the light
at the end of the street

The color of love
which makes the heart beat

The color of the sky 
when the sun descends

The color of this poem
from beginning to end
