Fly Away My Brother

Fly Away My Brother

Fly away my brother, fly away
I felt you streaking through space
blowing stars off course
lighting up the sky
as you shed the shackles of earth.
Fly away my brother, fly ever upward
Explode forever everywhere
as you find your place in eternity
Wonder at what has
never been known.
Beginning or end
you’re always with me:
Two little boys
sharing a bed
looking out the window
above the Christmas lights,
searching for Santa Claus
Wondering what
time will bring.

                    (For: Jerome)
