As I Walk Past the Alleys

As I walk past the alleys, I see you
Crawling, begging, moaning in pain.
Sorrows you hold, flood the avenue,
Things you've lost and could never gain:
You cry at the poverty, down the lane,
And no nomads here hold your hand.
I promise, I'll look up to you, fight you're bane,
Let me just grow up once, I'll take your stand.
Poverty, pain, tortures-that's all you've got,
But this time I'll revive joy and happiness.
I'll persevere to make you a treasure grot,
For I swear and make this a year of promises.
Promises that are as thick as my blood,
Promises that fathom my best humanity,
I make them to keep, I swear to mud.
I'll build you a home out of my integrity,
You'll never lay on the dark pavements,
You too will receive the joy of life like us,
Your smiles will be my greatest achievements
For I swear and make this a year of promises.
