Star of Bethlehem

The sands shimmered, in the sinking evening light;
Twood' not be many hours, fore' the stars enlivened the night.
A babe' in a manger, so many miles from home;
Frightened and cold, though never alone.
Three men to Bethlehem would come in the night,
Their path lit by a star, growing increasingly bright.
The Star of David, shone its light down on Jesus' lowly inn;
The birth of our Savior, His New Testament to begin.
They came to Bethlehem to see the new borne King,
Across miles of desolate desert, to hear the Angels sing.
Christ our Lord and Savior, born that first Christmas Day;
The One who would soon, take our Earthly sins away.
A light so very brilliant, it dazzled our eyes;
Each cattle was lowing softly, as the new sun did arise.
Swaddled in the coarse cloth, of His Shepherds fair,
The King of all kings, laid almost naked and bare.
This was the first Christmas, in Bethlehem town;
Streamers from God's Heavens, and the Angels came down.
Two thousand years later we're still silenced in awe,
Trying to fathom His Grace, and to live by His Law.
