Earthen Days

The tones being played reminiscent of the good old days
When as boys we used to play
O how I miss those days when the grass was green and
Everything we did we overcame
This earth will never be the same
We've polluted it to the point of utter disgrace
Have we no shame no shame

As I wipe the tears from my face
What will our children do when they reach a proper age
Farm the fields for dust and their children again and again simply insane
We had our time to make a stand for change
I'll close my journal now as the words drift off the page
Back to this world that we made.

Timothy, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Makes me think of the fall of humanity in the garden, and the declaration of God over Adam, that he would have to toil in the dirt for his food. We've polluted His creation with sin, and I can feel the separation in this poem. It also reminds me of the book Ecclesiastes in which Solomon expounds upon everything under the sun. There is nothing new under the sun unless God makes all things new.
