My Recurring Nightmare
We go up and touch the sky
Then fall, seeking out the sight of ground below
I hold them in my hands, and hope, no pray they will survive
Always waking before our everlasting fate.
He walks along the street
I scream out to stop him
My mouth opens, and all that comes out is silence.
It is too late.
She jumps and time stands still
And I want to run and catch her
She falls, and all I know is that I couldn’t help
I couldn’t save her.
They talk behind my back,
Not knowing that I am there, invisible
They don’t know I can hear
All that they say about me
They tell me that I’m stupid
Not good enough
And I want to fight back
But I can’t move
I can’t speak
I just sit there.
I know today that I will face it again
I will face my recurring nightmare.
