To Be Real
To be real I really want to talk to you right?
But we just had this fight
And I don’t know if I should swoop in with the whole “hey, how are you?”
Because I’ve thought about calling you a thousand times
But each time my head and my heart were so far apart
And to be real I sometimes spend hours starting at a blank phone waiting for you to text back
Or waiting for you to call it
But if I’m honest
I would love to call you and talk to you as if we never fought
And no, I can’t ignore you or pretend to be mad at you
Because that’s too much weight to carry, hate to carry
Hate that I have to remind myself to have every time I see you
So for both our sake and peace of mind, I will drown my pride
I will try and bring back those conversations lost in time
Maybe our hearts will connect again
Before we call it quits
Unless that’s what you want
If so let me know and I will let this go
And let it blow into 10 million pieces
God gave us mouths so speak
Be open with me
Let me know how you’re feeling
I know asking you how you feel is demanding
But I need to know where we’re standing
I need to know if I’m annoying you, or if you’re avoiding me
Let me know if I need to do something to keep you here with me
And I will do the same with you
Maybe our hope will help us make it through
This thing we have might not be a fairytale
But it was meant to be real
So don’t stunt with me nor taunt me
Just be real with me

Lord knows when I taste emotion it becomes art to me

If not everything than anything
The say love is like art
And its canvas is the heart
So I want you to be my art
