Unite Africa

In ages past we sent letters to Freedom
With tattered inks on our dirty page,
The letters returned with beaming smiles,
Raising up flowers through our dried stem.

Back then, we warred against Principalities,
Now we war against ourselves on same shelve;
Siblings against siblings in African-made rings,
Drinking blood from the burnt through our local fire.

Look, we now have pirated Blacks within our walls,
Scary to our children, marrying our wives.
We throw stones on each other's doors,
Pointing black fingers to a black skin.

Let's rise on our feet not for a feast,
Let's weave colors to make our rainbow,
Let's beat not drums made from human skin,
Let's rise and display our heights.

Let the lamp of Love dance upon the pyramids of Egypt,
Revealing Mountain Kilimanjaro in Tanzania,
Through the rock of Olumo in Nigeria,
Warming the greenness of South Africa's Canyon.
.
Africa unite!
