Love doesn’t knock on my door anymore
Love doesn’t knock on my door anymore
They said Love finds you in mysterious ways
It comes to you when you expect it the least
And yet they talk about their eternal Love
That finds them exactly when they seek.
But Love escapes me
Love doesn’t knock on my door anymore.
Love doesn’t happen to me anymore
I no longer feel it inside me
Or maybe that’s a lie, I do have Love in me
So much of it, that it suffocates me
And blinds me, makes me hallucinate
I see Love when it’s just lust
I see Love when its just kindness
Love eludes me, Love doesn’t love me anymore.
Books and stories, tales of eternities
Bound together by Love and yearning
Men fighting battles, women crying rivers
For a promise, for a kiss, for a future
And yet, Love doesn’t beat for me anymore.
I once thought Love was enough
To walk miles, to cross bridges,
To climb mountains and swim oceans
I believed in true Love, that can break any spell
I was foolish, Love doesn’t work like that anymore.
I have stopped looking, I have stopped expecting
I have stepped away from hurt and heart breaking
And yet Love doesn’t find me
Love doesn’t care for me anymore
Truth be told, how can you escape Love?
Love is everywhere
On the train, on the streets
In a dimly lit park, wrapped up in sheets
Love smiles, Love makes gestures
Love dares to still test my patience
Love mocks me, Love isn’t kind anymore
Love escapes me
Love doesn’t knock on my door anymore.
