The World I Want To Be

I WANT TO FEEL IT ALL:
every broken heart's beat
every uninsured casualty
the pleas of a mousetrap's tenant
with no compassion
and no company but its dislocation

I want to shed every tear
and bleed from every wound
to mourn each voided order's death
and bury myself in mono-nucleosis first kisses
to live in a nest of unreturned phone calls
and AIDS contestants playing musical chairs
(i want to be the one left standing)

to see through these tastebuds
and gnaw my feeding hand
to be able to love you and know we are the SAME
to have the thought and hope that there is something more for me
im grateful for the possibilty
