Come Back

Come back.

If you were here
My heart would inflate
If you were here
My bones would fit
If you were here
My skin would plump and be moist from my tears
If you were here
The whites of my eyes would be white
If you were here
The stones in my throat would be coughed out and I would not choke
If you were here
I could hear my own voice
If you were here
I could see my own skin
If you were here
I could breathe
If you were here
I could weep
Next to you
I could keep
The whole of me
With the whole of you.

Only your ashes
To keep my heart afloat
Only your ashes
That have built my bones
Only your ashes
To put colour to my skin
Only your ashes
To keep my eyes blue
Only your ashes
To release my curdling cry
Only your ashes
To help me sing
Only your ashes
To put colour to my skin
Only your ashes
Only your ashes
And I cannot begin
I cannot begin
