Here,At the End of All Things

I am lying here on a dimly lit floor
as the fulfilling rays of life are all but gone,
I am so glad i never took its glow for granted
for i know it will not return to me again at dawn.

I see streams of memories rush past my eye,
but i grasp only those that bring my heart a joyous uproar,
for today, let the pain only consume my body
and let the peace lay claim to my soul.

I am surrounded by tearful faces, not willing to let me go,
holding on with all their lives to a fragile hand.
Refusing that the world is willing to take back all it was willing to bestow.
Blinded by love or gratitude, this step of life they refuse to understand .

And even if the life i led with them spared me little fortune
and masked my name with obscurity.
In this darkest moment their limelight of love has surrounded me,
In a single moment i feel my life's greatest glory ,oh lord, where else could i be?
