Hands

With eyes a little foggy,
floating hands,
I look to You just to see
You enveloping
everything and me.
When I can, I fix on You,
adoring You
and hoping in what I know of You.
It is enough—
the love I feel and the good I know—
to widely smile to You now Lord.
You’re more than worthy
This is the only
natural thing for me to do
    Deep breath in
    and rest.

Boldly I look to You with
furrowed brow again
grasping hands
again for….all that resides within…

But You look at me—
smile hidden by chinned hand—
with no words, but a twinkle.
My smile comes unbidden
    hipped hands.
and I see…it will be
Your way, Your time wrinkle.
