The Maelstrom

Soaring ahead
Through time and space
I’m in over my head 
At an unsteady pace

Lost in fear 
From an onward motion
Results in a tear
Due to much emotion

Trapt in a daze
Everything swirling
It’s all a haze
Spinning, whirling

I wish to end 
This crazy ride
The rules bend
With broken pride

The feelings gone
They float away
It’s been so long 
Since I’ve lived for today
