Emerging From the Storm

Everything I was working on was for us
A new journey was calling out to me from the horizon
When the storm hit strong pulling me into it's uncontrollable fury of flaming rain
I couldn't deny being saturated to the bone while burning up inside of the
Internal hell that had overtaken my body and my soul
My breathing heavy but shallow
My heart pounding but dead
My head full but empty
Someone keeps wringing their heavy grief mops through what I thought to be my stomach
The inside of my body no longer belongs to me
Only to the storm passing through with fury
I don't have an umbrella for this one
I have no shelter from this one
A force grabbed me by the throat
Was it to shake me to awaken me
Or was it trying to suffocate me
I do know that I am alive
Something is emerging
I am for me
It never began for us
My skin awaits the arrival of my soul to step inside to continue this journey as one
