Big Wild

I watched her at times, gazing into another world
Her head was past dwelling in the clouds
Way up high, and at times she would fall back to the ground.
She wore stars in her hair, milky way’s left and tangled in her everyday sweater
Curiosity crept over her shoulders, drenching her body with desire
Her eyes deeper than the ocean, sea salt sparkling on her skin
She saw things different, unlike you and me.
Carping at life through the underside of a crystal glass telescope.
Always reaching to feel the breeze, yet grounded to the earth like the roots of an old oak tree
She cradled wisdom in the palm of her silken hands
Holding paradoxes in her pockets and leather shoulder bags,
Wrapped up in her words, people used to say, as if they saw metaphors running down her face
She used to love uncontrollably, showering in laughter, running in the rain
Now she has loved too much
She tends not to show sensations, her mind is always in rotation
She hands out her teardrops of trust, I know it never runs dry
Her world is to multifaceted, staring through the smoke.
Lungs black, yet she stays in her mind for it is a universe she knows better than all the rest.
Contemplating culture
She tries hard but numb always becomes the answer.
I watched the way her matted hair complimented her ever lost
eyes that drifted in the rose gold meadows
Lips stained with the blood of rubies
Blue quarts on the shelves
She connects the constellations, wrapping herself in the umbra of darkness
I’ve yet to see what she sees
We see the world,
Yet she sees the crystal molecules which fuel her everyday on the pinpoint of all opportunities
She is big wild
Her spirit has not yet been lost
Exploring dimensions, folding time
Her eyes dimmed as she jumps from world to world
Euphoria is a needle in a haystack
Yet she finds it, one straw at a time
Mazes to the sublime
She gets lost so often,
Praying every day for the answer
Accepting the skin she’s in
Yet crawling out every night pleased if she wakes up still detached in another land
I see her drowning in her sorrows
Trying to stay afloat
Alcoholic breath fills her nose; she longs to be as free as the cold sea
She tends to explore the world
Her heart is at peace among the tall dark trees
Placing diamonds in her coffee cups
The edges cut throats faster than sugar
Hiding behind old thrift shop glasses and wholly sweaters
Thinking she will not fare,
Climbing to stay with a smile on her burdened face
I think she could go farther
I watch her love life even though it’s a thorn at hand
The average can’t understand,
For this girl is packed up for a trip without a plan.
