Stay

Straddled between two worlds, undecided
He sat there lost, a septic soul
Dwindling handshakes and false beginnings
Maybe you ought to shut the door, it's getting cold

Craven and crass, take that rite of passage
No rights here, only room for bigger mistakes
Wherefore the reasons, he chased them all
An eerie space this was, where even shadows forsake

Peaceful somnolence is a false dawn
Ask the bright blue lights that glow so smug
Bruised egos and musty conversations
This celebration of obsession, the new miracle drug

Dive into the deepest fears of your hopes
A labyrinth of dreams beckon
Drowning sounds and rippling images
And you're lost in oblivion

The carnival of chaos, open to all
Such a happy place but not anymore
He ponders for a second, looks around
I can't stay here. It's time to go
