A Poem About a Poem

I’m going to write a poem
But I’m not sure what about
I’ll put some words on paper
And do it without doubt

I could pen a sonnet
Make a limerick or two
Even write a free verse
Especially for you

Perhaps I’ll bunch together words
And think about the timing
Making sure I get it right
Ensuring it’s all rhyming

Poetry is good to write
It gets things off your chest
By expressing your emotions
Or by writing things in jest

It’s an ode to you who’s reading this
A poem for all to see
Especially for anyone
And written by little old me

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
