Life In Duquesne

As I sit on a hardened curb I search for meaning to my life.
Almost killed by a shadows will, putting an end to my struggle.

I sit and ponder will my soul ever recover.
I see an image of my former self, put together
in pieces and blur.Is it just a dream of fleeting
thoughts yet unseen?

I look again and I see the sun going down my friend
with water in my eyes. Why has God left me abandoned
and cold, not yet that old.Another sunset on my street,
as teardrops pool beneath my feet.

Out of the blue,I hear the e gentlest whisper I ever knew.
It's saying in a warm caress"When your'e at your worst,I
am at my best.
