The Lord I Serve

Oh, how do I love the Lord that I serve,
I love the Lord more with each passing day;
I love to sit down and peruse His Word,
But before I begin, I kneel and pray;

I thank Almighty God for days gone by,
And I commend Him for the present day;
When done, to a quiet place I retire,
Anxious to hear what the Lord has to say;

God is my Father – He knows what is best,
He is always with me, leading the way;
He never tires – no, He never needs rest,
Always reachable - be it night or day;

The Lord speaks to me through His divine Word,
And dotingly guides me along the way;
Comparing astute conduct to absurd,
Offering me heaven if I obey;

To worship and praise Him around His throne,
Is the best gift anyone could receive;
God promises a home, not made of stone,
To those who trust in His Word and believe;
