Hide-Out

I hear footsteps nearing me
I can't help it but hide myself;
My heart says darkness is closing in to pounce me
And trouble is spreading her wings just beside me
I can feel it and it is not far away.
I hear footsteps nearing me
I close my windows and shut the door
Fear leaps in to warn me,
I can't pull the curtains;
I wait patiently breathing heavily in my closed shell.
Confusion then forces me to rethink
Is the hideout really a safe one?
For I still hear footsteps nearing me,
I can't help it and I know I have to hide myself.
Darkness is taking its toll on me
And when everything becomes numb
I guess I had victory;
I open the door but then it is just too late...

This is a moving piece. You have captured the fear that lies beneath the surface of one in need. Beautifully written expression of true emotion. Peace, Love and Light be with you always. Smiles from Lolita
