A Whisper

I love you, he said, but a wind came along
and replaced his words with the ocean's fair song

I need you, he yelled, but then thunder and rain,
shattered his voice with no sign of remain

I want you, he screamed, with all might of his breath
Yet not one seemed to know, like the rattle of death

Now his lips do not speak, not a word, nor a cry
there is silence and peace in the depth of his eye

But just listen and hear, how the wind whistles sweet
You will hear it brings whispers of longing heartbeat
