Midnight

outside the window,
there he lied,
watching her,
from outside,
when midnight struke,
there he lingered,
as she woke up,
as the day approaches,
beneath the ground he hides,
until that very night,
waiting ever so slight,
for his bride,
as the hours tick one by one,
there he waited steady as a drum.
midnight struck,
as she looked out the window,
there he saw,
she placed her hands upon that window,
waiting for him to come,
the clock hit one,
and she relized he had not come,
