Never Forget

Words will not come....
Blocked by sorrow,
Hidden with pain.
Smiles so forced,
lips crack and bleed.
So unfortunate are we,
Life so unpredictable.
No subtlety, no surety.
Death so forthcoming.
How do we live, are we none the wiser?
Answer me this on pain of sorrow,
Do we repeat the mistakes of today?
Or do we live as if there is no tomorrow?
Free me from these shackles,
Show mercy where there should be none.
Give peace to me and let me sleep.
