The Silent Kiss

When the sound of your voice enters my world, a quiet peace settles over me — yet beneath that calm, something rises deep in my chest, a coolness that spreads through my body like a spirit being washed in cold light. Even when there is nothing to fear, even when you have never shown signs of pulling away, my heart stays alert. I find myself concerned for your well being, tuned to every silence as if it were a shift in the sky.
When you do not respond, worry stirs in me. My trust in you has grown into something greater than anything I have ever given another woman. In my heart, you are the woman I walk toward, the one whose path aligns with mine. I move toward you with intention, with devotion, with the quiet certainty that God is closing the distance between us — guiding two lives into one direction.
The love I carry for you is unlike anything I have felt for anyone else. I worry when you do not eat, or when you eat too little. I think of your child, too — the child I have already accepted in my spirit as my own. I have told my family and friends that I may become a stepfather before I become a biological father, and I have never feared that truth. Love is not divided by blood; it is multiplied by presence.
Your silence, when it comes, drives me wild. I wish we could speak constantly, not only through text but through voice, through presence, through every moment life allows. I am always available, and I feel you are always near in spirit, even when the world keeps us busy.
Know this: the line between us remains open, always and forever.
