The Desolate City
The dark desolate city
Haunts me like broken dreams
Nightmares that have come to life
Of a world that I will never see
The life I am living
Could be worth so much more
But I fail to see the point
Even breathing has become a chore
My body is breaking down
As my mind has become numb
The only happiness I've ever known
Comes from pills and a bottle of rum
I cannot see the light
My future is too bleak
I can't climb out of this depression
My soul is too weak
I'm dying from the inside out
But none of you can tell
I'm far from perfect
I'm tired of living in this hell.
