Only One

You sent us your Son O Lord
To teach us wrong from right
For us to turn the other cheek
And learn to be contrite

Yet we have taken words sublime
And turned them upside down
To justify our wayward trends
While destroying all around

You are the one true God
But many churches call your name
Saying they are the right ones
It’s really such a shame

Why can’t they see your Love
For us it knows no bounds
We need to cleanse our souls
And stop eating from the ground

There is only one true God
He is the same for all
Be you Jew or Hindu
Christian, Muslim or Neanderthal

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I'm glad to see you still kicking my friend, I like and agree with the words here. It is also written, "Many are called but few are chosen" It's up to us and the Grace of our Heavenly Father to keep us among the latter. God Bless Robert

I like the ending, ending. LOL..They some of us have the Neanderthal gene or genes. I don't know if that is good or bad. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara
