Friends

my angel my dove
the one I loved
I wanted to fight
but she gave up
I made her cry
she stood beside
I lost my girl
so I lost my life
the times weren't good
the times were rough
and the angel in her
has had enough
a friend like you
is a friend I need
I hope to god
again our paths will meet
the time may not be near
but never is the word I fear

Hi Joaquin, I would like to extend my hand in welcome to the PoetrySoup community. There’s a lot to learn from each other here and hopefully you will have a great time while at it. I love how smooth flowing your poem is - nice. It's always hard when you are the only one fighting - I love the optimism at the end. Very well written. Feel free to drop me a line when you can. I am looking forward to reading more from you. Vicky.
