Impossible Dreams

Through the window, within 
hoping to see you, instead
I saw the the universe, unsaid, 
pulling at the tides, uncertian 
ragged shorelines of my desires 
ebbing millions of possibilities, 
impossible, mocking me.
Their brightness light years away.
