Words Can Hurt
I always heard the saying that
sticks and stones
may break my bones
but words will never hurt
but I learned long ago that
it was all a lie
because words do hurt
well at least your words did
they cut me like a knife
deep down in my soul
they hurt the most
because they came from you
every single thing you have ever called me
I will never forget
I cant ever forget
it wont go away
its lingering inside my head
it hits me every night
I sit in the dark
thinking of you
thinking of how that hurt me so much
but it was just a word
yea thats true
its the way i took it
I took it hard
my tears are silent
and those are the worse kind of tears
I only do it at night
every night
but you wouldnt know
I am hurting deep down inside
but you still wouldnt know
you can ask me all you want
my answer will always be
im okay
you just dont understand me
so why would i tell you
now I realize
that i am nothing you call me
I am more than that
but why does it hurt so much
maybe its because it came from you
a person I love so much
a person that i never thought would say it
but you did now
I cant seem to let it go
it will always be with me
I feel so less of myself
but I will get over it
words really do hurt
especially when they came from you...
