Alter Ego

My husband is a happy man.
He holds me near him at breakfast,
at lunch and dinner,
he has me near when he climbs the mountains,
when he comes to the valley,
when he walks on the right way of the day.
My husband is a happy man.
A child is pulling him by sleeve,
another one climbs his arms.
He’s a tree that gives birth
to birds and teaches them to fly.
His roots are gathering us all
and keep us tight as into a ball of silk.
My husband sleeps
with his head on my knees.
Sometimes,
He is a fastidious child.
