Last Night I Dreamt

Last night I dreamt I heard you
Speak and call my name
Just like in days of childhood
Just like nothing had changed
You told me to come and play with you
With your lincoln logs and toys.
We are gonna build a house
You said in that familiar voice.
As I opened my eyes my heart was racing
Could it really and truly be?
Then I knew I was only dreaming.
My tears were all I could see.
So tonight once again I will close my eyes
And think of you brother with love.
And remember sweet days of childhood
As you watch over me from above.

Compelled to read this since another poet posted a poem today with the exact title as yours. Very glad I read it though, beautiful -thanks for sharing it! MC
