Immortality
One day,
The comfort of the night
And the will of my might
was no longer enough for me.
So I came out
Bravely into the light,
Unaware of how bright
It once was.
And I took
One glance at the sun,
And before my staring had even begun,
I felt the pain.
My skin seared,
It burned and smoked.
And without a grimace, I remained unprovoked,
And turned back to the morning sky.
And as the pain
Flowed freely throughout my totality
I proudly shunned immortality
And let the day's effects take place.
