Innocent

INNOCENT

Am I not Innocent
That I am being subjected to war
Against my own wishes
Why? Am I not innocent?

Am I not Innocent
That I am being subjected to slaughter
Against my own wishes
Why? Am I not innocent?

So who is INNOCENT and in whose eyes?
If beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder,
Perhaps so does Innocence.

Perhaps these days
Innocence is decided
Decided by the man or woman
Who wants to slaughter
Slaughter for meat or meal
Slaughter for power or money
Slaughter for fame or fear
Slaughter for faith or freedom
Slaughter is Slaughter!

Innocence is no more innocence.....
Innocence of the plant or flower has vanished
Just the way the cow's has....and so has the dog's....

Innocence has given way to slaughter....

When will humankind regain the fragrance of innocence again??
