Spring

It’s dark, cold, and filled with despair
Nothing but chill fills the air
My only hope is that God is aware
And can hear my only prayer
I know in time this white frost will leave
And although it’s beautiful on the Eve
When it goes no one will be so naive
To think that there isn’t another storm up its sleeve
I long to feel the heat of the Sun's sting
For I know exactly what the sun shining will bring
The birds up at dawn joining to sing
Yeah I just can’t wait for spring
