Good Intentions

I didn’t have time to call today, but I wanted to
I would have told you that I loved you, that I missed you

I didn’t have time to visit today, but I wanted to
I would have shared stories, shared laughs and then shared some hugs too

I didn’t have time to write today, but I wanted to
I would have sent a note to show I cared, but then, I thought you knew.

I didn’t have time to tell you today, but I wanted to
I would have said how much you mean to me, how much I’m thankful for you

“I didn’t have time today, but I wanted to”
That dead beat marches on and on…
Thought it doesn’t much matter how much you want
When in the end you never do.

Time doesn’t stand still or last forever
It always spins faster than we
So should this moment be my last
Please...

Know truly how thankful I was that no matter what
or how busy you found yourself to be,

You were never ever, sweet mercy, not once ever
Ever too busy...

For me

Shaundi sounds like a tale of regret, ad romantic...David

A lovely poem and such a truth. Life passes so many people by while they're waiting for it to happen...love the ending!...soupmail
