Walk To Me

WALK TO ME
(It's marked 2003 but I'm not sure I wrote this poem.)

I arrived at the PEARLY GATES...
looked up and saw God.
He knew who I was...
feeling guilty, unworthy~I turned and walked towards Hell.
It was a long, hard journey and I knew God watched my dreaded struggle.
Yes, I would walk to Hell, full of guilt, shame, and prepared to be punished eternally.
And punished I was. Time and time again.
For each time I arrived at Hells gate, God reached out and lifted me back to where my journey had begun.
And, again, I'd begin my long walk to Hell.
Finally, I tired, and asked how long must I continue the walk? Repeat the dread?
Why punish me with the same hard journey of dread?
When will it end?
God smiled and said FOREVER...
UNTIL YOU WALK TO ME.
