What I Love

my son was born with a disconnected mind
he catches on if you give him time

i love that he carries on a normal life
i hate that he will never have a wife

he loves animals and building things
i hate to tell him that he can not sing : )

his appetite so big and around the clock
you will find him from time to time with only the one sock

he gets so excited about just the little things
oh what joy he brings

he talks to everyone that passes through
why some people are mean i have no clue

i ask God to please keep him near if i am called home before him
he never liked just being called 'jim'

his sisters and brothers treat him well and give him no slack
...and his love for them does not lack

my dear son mommy loves you so
you are special in my heart i want you to know

and if I could tell the world to stop treating as if you have a disease
this would make mommy so very pleased
