A Blank Sheet of Paper

A Blank Sheet of Paper
A blank sheet of paper
lies on the table.
It's a reminder
of a life uncertain.
As I take a seat,
I can't find a thing to write.

A blank sheet of paper
appears in my notebook.
It's a reminder of what we once had.
As I look back,
I don't know what to write.

A blank sheet of paper
is placed in front of me.
It's a reminder
of what we soon will have.
As I think of you,
the paper will soon be filled.

A blank sheet of paper
sat on the table.
It was a reminder
of what we had together.
As I remember you,
I find plenty to write.

A great write. Why are there no more poems here after 2012? I don't believe you've given up writing?

Beautifully penned Deanna! I love how you've used 'a blank sheet of paper' to symbolize the journey that life can become. It reminds us that the future has not yet been set and it is up to us to write it. Keep writing! You do it well.

Thanks Deeana and Anne. A little about myself. I'm a 33 year old born with multiple disabilities. I've been writing non-stop since I was 12. At 22 or so, I started working on a poetry book for and about people with various disabilities. Some of them are about me or based on friends. Most other poems are pure fiction. The internet has helped me express myself so much and get my name out there. Though I have not published a book, I'm sure it will happen some day. I also love reading feedback. DCD

I too have felt this way. I see we have more than just our names in common. Keep on writting!
