Determination

I read a little poem once
I do not know who wrote it
some little words so much like me
I very often quote it

"They said it couldn't be done
With a smile he went right to it
He tackled that job that couldn't be done
And couldn't do it."

When the doctor told me
I had to quit my smoking
I looked at him and said "now Doc
You surely must be joking."

For thirty seven years now
I've puffed upon these things
From roll your own to Lucky Strikes
Then on to filter kings

But I guess that I can stop now
Though it may cause sweat and tears
And it might even take me
Thirty seven years
