Secrets

They lurk beneath the surface like sharks
Haunting our souls with phantoms of the past
Binding us together and tearing us apart
They leave their mark on our aura
Some mold us into better people
Others drag us down to depravity
All of them bring together friends on autumn nights
Searching for a new level of understanding
Seeking refuge in an open ear
From demons that have chased us all our lives
Tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine
Shhh…no one else needs to know

Beautifully penned Angelica! You've dealt the theme justice - secrets do affect our aura mostly for the bad but sometimes for the good. Very well written!

A bit of strong truth & wisdom. "Bring together friends on autumn nights"...that line made me smile.
