Falling Stars

Can we watch the stars fall?
Can we watch the world turn?
Will you let me hold you?
Can I clean your wounds?
Can I dry your eyes?

When you have the time come find me.
I'll be waiting her in the patient hollow of my heart.
I'll be waiting.

I gave you truth that hurt...I'm sorry.
I gave you words of hope and light.
I tried to let you see a different side.
Not wanting it to be a lie.

But all the same I did it again...I died.
I may have lied.
But I Swear Damn I tried.
I told you I wanted to be high it's how I got by.

I could see the pain but incapable of perception.
Incapable of understanding.
But still trying I gave my words.
From the deepest part of my being I spoke.
For hope.

And so I wait.
To hear your voice.
It's been so long.
A few words a day is nothing like enough.
I need to hear what you have to say.

I need to know what the future holds and what it doesn't.
I can live without you but not without knowing.

Will you watch the stars fall with me?
Will you show me your heart and share your thoughts with me?
Can I hold you as we watch?
Ill guard you from all I can.
All walk through all the fire you breath.
I see what you feel.
I never could before.
You opened my eyes to suffering without even knowing it.
Something that I felt before.

I've been there before and felt what you speak of and it touches deep. To know that feeling and to express it well, it is very good. it's the kind of poem that needs a hug after reading it.
