A Fire Inside of Me

I'm starting my life again,
I'm starting it brand new,
I'm going to forget the day,
the very moment, I ever laid eyes on you.

You played with my mind
and you teased my broken heart,
I've come to the realization,
it's best if we're apart.

Better for my thoughts,
just better for me,
HA! you always did say
I was a selfish s.o.b.

I only thought of myself,
yet everything I did was for someone else,
there is no blaming me this time,
you brought this on yourself.

The pain that I put up with,
became more than I could bare,
all I ever wanted,
was to show that you actually care.

Finally I'm tired of asking,
baby do you love me, are you happy with me,
my body just can't take anymore,
and I'm now willing to set you free.

To the one who has your love and happiness,
and the one you give the same to in return,
yet I'm stuck trying to put out this fire inside of me,
the fire you still make burn.
