Unending

Days turn to weeks
as hours tick by
not sure how to go on
just struggling to survive

It’s tearing me apart
an ache so strong
I’m bleeding from the heart
with ideas we can’t be together
we won’t be forever

This separation from you
so very far away
each and every moment
ignites such pain anew

Kills me a little more each day
so shut out the burning within
refusing to lose you that way
I’ll close my eyes to the flame

Never give it a second thought
believing only in a perfect world for two
one of our own making
the world that I am choosing
is just for the pleasures of me and you
