The poem(s) are below...

who taught u forgiveness?
that misunderstood flavor
u question my intentions
hidden in my behaviour

i wonder if today will last?
i wonder your religion?
i question your pretensions
i long to be forgiven

everyone is guilty
some just got position
some try not to hurt u
most just never listen

i try not to lie too much
cuz liars never prosper
but sometimes i'm a sinner
i'm kneeling at your altar

I truly enjoyed the depth of this poem. Relatable, powerful, and well expressed by choice words. The questions you ask are ones we all struggle with, along with the statements mentioned. Truly a beautiful piece. ~ KR Wonder

Forgiveness is a deep well and you explored a lot in this poem. With so much to offer will forgiveness be explored again as a subject? Also in your poem, the ideas are very direct like Frost, but I wonder what this would sound like if changed the "tempo[?]".

I enjoyed reading this, Trevor. I think the question mark at the end of the first line should be at the end of the second line. Cheers.

Trevor: I'm a simple rhymer. Knowing little about "true" poetry makes some of it hard for me to understand but as I put myself in your piece I thought you might actually know me. :o) Thanks for sharing such a "thoughtful" work with all of us on the Soup. I look forward to seeing more of your thoughts in ink soon. oldbuck

I liked the idea, Trevor, and I liked the emotion you created, but I really didn't like the use of U for you.
