Fight, Struggle

First fight for breath,
struggle unceasing.
First cry escapes,
heart beats unending.

Mind dims, years pass.
Lungs tire, heart tears.
To stop is to die.

First fight goes on.
First struggle continues.
But death stalks.
But death stalks.
