Untill Then

When water
desert
The river
basin
And tree
deserts
The forest.

When light
desert
The burning
lamp
And
whiteness
desert
The snow.

When breeze
deserts
The blowing
fan
And wetness
desert
The tongue.

When spines
desert
The citrus
tree
And blood
desert
The heart.

When lines
desert
The elders'
palm
And fruit
desert
The orchard.

When hills
desert
The Ekiti land
And
Remembrance
desert
The Hero.

When sand
deserts
The hourglass
And picture
deserts
The mirror.

Then,
words can
Desert
our pen!
