Death's Coldness

the chilled wind from the dark winters night kissed me my last goodnight
Walking, walking, walking was all I could do
Every step I took there was a crunch from the crisp new snow that had fallen.

I decided to sit underneath an old dying oak tree
The cold paralyzed my lungs and froze my bones
The old cold man jack frost took me away

I always had wondered what death would be like
The cold overcame me, and I lost the will to live
It was as peaceful as a hot bubble bath

What a blessing we have in PoetrySoup. A place to come to write and read and make new friends along the ink trail. I am wishing you a day full of inspiration. I enjoyed reading your poetry today and hope to read many more written by you in the future Aurora. Love, Carol
